Hunter & Gatherer Challenge: Autumn Harvest in Mendocino
3 Day Hunter & Gatherer Challenge: Autumn Harvest Edition
October 14–16, 2025 | Mendocino National Forest
Live wild. Feast with purpose. Return to the old ways.
The Experience:
As the autumn winds turn and the final harvest arrives, we gather in the forest to return to the rhythm of the Earth. This is not a retreat. This is a rite of survival — where we hunt, build, craft, and cook with reverence for the land and its gifts.
Together we will:
Hunt deer and learn to use every part — hide, bone, meat, tendon, tools
Fish wild waters and cook your catch over flame
Craft your own bow & arrows, and train in forest archery
Tan hides, carve tools, and create primitive crafts from what you’ve earned
Forage seasonal herbs, roots, and wild foods to make teas, medicines, and sacred brews
Build and master fire — for survival, warmth, and ritual
Construct primitive shelters and learn cold-weather preparation
Bake over stone and flame, cook ancestral recipes using foraged and hunted ingredients
Gather nightly around the fire for feasting under the stars
New Moon stargazing experience
Seasonal Focus:
This challenge aligns with the seasonal harvest and solar shift, honoring the natural cycles of Earth. We do not follow any one religion — this is about reconnecting with ancient human rhythms, Earth-based skills, and the sacred exchange between people and land.
Family Note
All ages are welcome. Children under the age of 12 attend for FREE.
Children must be accompanied by their own parent or legal guardian at all times and are not the responsibility of our staff or other adults. This experience is immersive, hands-on, and rooted in respect for nature and safety.
Who This Is For:
Those ready to get dirty, earn their feast, and remember how to live raw, skilled, and sacred. No spectators. You will build, hunt, cook, and connect.
