Hunter & Gatherer Challenge: Spring in the Sierras
Hunter & Gatherer Challenge: Spring Awakening
April 1–3, 2026 | Eastern Sierras
Catch your food. Craft your tools. Bathe under the full moon.
The Experience:
As spring returns to the mountains and snowmelt feeds the rivers, we gather to honor renewal through water, food, and fire. This is a weekend of elemental magic — a time to wake up your instincts, touch the land, and eat what you create with your own hands.
In this 3-day challenge, you will:
Fish in clean alpine waters and learn to clean, season, and cook your own catch
Forage wild greens, roots, and herbs to use in meals, teas, and remedies
Craft a bow and arrows using fish skin wraps and raw materials from the land
Master open-fire cooking:
Roast fish on cedar logs
Bake ancestral breads on hot stones
Steam wild vegetables in earth-coal pits
Make elixirs, moon teas, and spring tonics with herbs you forage yourself
Feast under the full moon — wild food, flame, music, and connection
Bathe in natural hot springs beneath the stars — a sacred rite of rebirth
Seasonal Focus:
This challenge honors the first full moon after the spring equinox — a time of cleansing, rebirth, and vitality. Through hands-on earthcraft, fire-cooking, and water rituals, we reconnect with the rhythms of nature without religious framing — just the raw sacredness of spring.
Family Note:
All ages welcome. Kids under the age of 12 attend for FREE.
Children must be accompanied by their parent or legal guardian at all times and are not the responsibility of our staff or other adults.
Who This Is For:
Those ready to catch their food, craft their weapons, and emerge reborn. This is not a luxury retreat — it’s a challenge, a rite of passage, and a wild celebration.
